Welcome to the Cho Lab

(Disease Biology and Biomarker Innovation Research Group)

We aim to understand the biological complexities behind multifactorial diseases from cancers to cardiovascular diseases and beyond.

The Cho lab is an interdisciplinary research group dedicated to holistically understand the mechanistic basis of human and companion animal diseases, using a combination of genetic, biochemical, microscopic, and computational methods. We also work towards leveraging biological engineering solutions to impact human and animal health. Our lab is designated as an affiliate member of the Korea Mouse Phenotyping Center (KMPC) and is a close partner of Protanbio Inc., a venture biotechnology company founded by our PI, Prof. Je-Yoel Cho. We are engaged in several collaborative research projects with Seoul National University Hospital, National Cancer Center of Korea, KRIBB, KIST, KAIST, Yonsei University, and other revered institutions.
